Make the web more awesome than it already is? Challenge accepted. I design sites and apps that look great and are easy to use, then code them in a way that makes sense to both browsers and people alike. It doesn’t get more awesome than that!
Seriously Though, I don’t mess around when it comes to Creating Websites
If you’re like me you’re on the web a lot, which means you’ve visited a LOT of websites. So, I’m sure you have noticed that many of them are a mess of poorly organized pages and outdated information. Every now and then, however, you end up somewhere that is full of useful information, easy to navigate, and a pleasure to use and you think to yourself, “why aren’t all sites like this?” I specialize in creating sites that elicit this response through creative insight, thoughtful design, and logical development.
Thoughtful Web Design
Despite what some think, designing a website involves much more than picking a few colors and fonts and throwing them together on a page. My design process starts with a thoughtful analysis of the project’s goals and the intended audience. Armed with that knowledge and your input, I can hand craft a design that meets the aesthetic and technical requirements of the project.
One of the big advantages of knowing how to code is I can ensure my designs will be as functional as they are visually appealing. Being a Web Developer as well as Designer certainly helps me produce better designs and has the added benefit of reducing development time and costs for you. The end result is a custom tailored design that can be built and maintained efficiently, which should keep both you and your site's users happy.
If you want an average website there are plenty of options for you out there, but if you want something more - a unique site that really speaks to your visitors, a site that they truly enjoy - I can help.
I’ve always liked the WordPress slogan: “Code is Poetry.” For me, it’s not enough to just slop some code together to get a site up and running. Projects should be built in a way that is semantic, valid, accessible, and efficient. I take pride in writing clean, efficient code and enjoy seeing my clients benefit as a result.
Regardless of the programming language I’m working with, I always aim to adhere to industry best practices such as proper formatting, commenting, progressive enhancement, and the “DRY” principle whenever possible. If none of that makes sense to you don't worry, it simply means that I code my sites to perform well, be secure, and function the way they were designed to.
